The concert you’ve been waiting for is sold out and you're looking for a resale ticket? It’s often possible, provided you keep a few habits in mind. Here are the 6 checks to perform before paying, regardless of the site you are buying from.
1. Check how long the platform has been around
A site created a few weeks ago, with no history or reviews? This should alert you: fake ticketing sites often appear just before major concerts, then disappear. Prefer a seller that has been established for several years and has already proven its reliability. At Velora Ticket, we have been reselling tickets since 2017.
2. Demand the total price before paying
The displayed price must include all fees. Beware of an attractive rate that climbs on the final payment screen.
3. Be wary of the word "official"
A resale site is not the official box office, unless there is an agreement with the organizer. An honest seller states this clearly, as we do on every page of Velora Ticket.
4. Pay by credit card
Paying by card allows you to dispute a transaction with your bank in case of a problem. Never pay with cryptocurrencies or gift cards (PCS, Transcash, Neosurf, Google Play, Apple, Amazon cards, etc.): if a seller asks you to do so, it is a very bad sign. These payments cannot be cancelled or refunded. Also, avoid transfers and "friends and family" payments.
5. Check the ticket type and demand an official transfer
Some tickets are non-transferable or can only be transferred via the ticketing app. Read the venue and organizer's terms before buying: a ticket that cannot be transferred risks being refused at the entrance.
Demand that the ticket be transferred to you through the official channel. For example, for a Ticketmaster ticket, ask for a transfer via the Fan Wallet in the Ticketmaster app. The ticket arrives directly in your account and disappears from the seller's: it exists only as a single copy, because tickets cannot be duplicated on this platform. Be wary of a simple PDF or a screenshot: they may have been sent to multiple buyers.
6. Read the guarantees
What happens if the concert is cancelled, if the tickets do not arrive in time, or if you are refused entry? The answers must be clearly stated in writing before the purchase.
